CPL’s Chetan Chure, CPL’s Associate Director, Formulation Development, presents novel research on liposomal formulations of prabalan for targeted topical delivery in diabetic neuropathic pain. To address the limitations of systemic treatments, CPL developed and characterized five prabalan-loaded liposome formulations using a dual-phase approach to enable immediate and sustained drug release. In vitro permeation studies confirmed consistent dermal delivery, sustained release over 24 hours, and effective drug penetration into the dermis. This liposomal platform shows strong potential as a localized pain management strategy.
